I believe we all have the power to change, even when it feels impossible. Life can sometimes bring us challenges and obstacles that we are not, nor could ever be prepared. I am dedicated to assist my clients discover their inner strengths and skills to overcome these obstacles in order to achieve their goals in healing and growth so they can have the healthy life they deserve.
As long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion to help others. My friends always came to me with their problems, and I was very blessed to be able to care for my loved ones when they were ill. I became fascinated with human behavior, motivations, thoughts, and emotions when I was a teenager and decided I wanted to work in the field of psychology. In college, I learned that many people’s issues stem from their childhood, so I decided to change my studies from psychology to education in order to be a teacher - a key part in children's lives - with hopes of helping them become healthy individuals.
It was not long before I saw that my students’ problems were becoming more complex and beyond my training. I was not sure how to help them. So, I returned to school to get the education and training required to be a therapist. The experience of being an educator has helped me be a better therapist in countless ways, mainly how we learn. And that's what therapy is all about…learning what the problem is and learning how to solve it.
